Inibsa commits to young talent and technological innovation as the main sponsor of the first interuniversity hackathon in Barcelona.

Inibsa, an international pharmaceutical group specialising in the production of dental anaesthesia and the marketing of dental products, reinforces its commitment to technological innovation applied to the health sector with its participation as the main sponsor in the first edition of Interhack Bcn, an interuniversity hackathon held this weekend at the Digital Talent Hub of Parc Tecnològic de Nou Barris in Barcelona.

For 36 uninterrupted hours, more than 400 students from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) have worked as a team to respond to real business challenges associated with sustainability, industry and technology. The event also benefited from the collaboration of Damm and Qualcomm, as well as the institutional support of Barcelona Activa, BIT Habitat and the Barcelona City Council.

The challenge proposed by Inibsa —a technological solution to boost the marketing of local pharmaceutical products to dental clinics— has brought together multidisciplinary teams that have evidenced how technology and health have much to share with each other.

A declaration of principles, not a sponsorship

Eduard López, CEO of Inibsa, took the floor at the opening of the event and made clear the spirit with which the company decided to participate: "For Inibsa, being here today is not simply a sponsorship action. It's a declaration of principles".

In his speech, he emphasised the company's commitment to young talent, collaboration between companies, universities and institutions and open innovation as a tool to accelerate real solutions with technological impact in the health sector.

He also highlighted the role of sustainability not as a trend, but as a necessary condition for competing: "We believe that selling better and being more sustainable are not incompatible goals. On the contrary, more and more, companies that want to grow will have to do so by generating a positive impact".

Inibsa Talent Factory: young talent as a strategic priority

Inibsa's presence at Interhack Bcn reinforces the Inibsa Talent Factory project, which is the company's initiative geared towards identifying, attracting and developing young talent. Inibsa actively fosters the connection between the academic and business worlds, convinced that the best ideas arise from new perspectives.

"Technology alone does not solve problems. People solve them. With sound judgment, with creativity, with the ability to connect different disciplines", said Eduard López, addressing the participants directly. "When young talent finds space, confidence and purpose, extraordinary things happen."

Sustainability in action: beyond the discourse

Interhack Bcn is framed within the BCN Clima project, which reinforces the event's alignment with Inibsa's values. The company has been integrating sustainability into its operations for years: it has its own well that guarantees water supply during manufacturing; it applies osmosis and purification processes that enable it to reuse part of its water consumption; and it has reinforced its commitment to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The Inibsa challenge: winners

The high level of the projects presented led to an exceptional decision by the sponsors —Estrella Damm, Qualcomm and Inibsa—, which, after evaluating the proposals, agreed to extend the number of winning teams and recognise three projects per challenge instead of one, as initially planned.

The team made up by Erik Batiste, Ernest Rull and Álvaro Sáenz-Torre won first prize in the challenge proposed by Inibsa with the project “CAM Platform - KeepInibsa”, which was also acknowledged with the Major League Hacking award for the best use of ElevenLabs.

Their solution, a business intelligence tool for dental clinic sales teams, integrated predictive purchase-need alerts, a delegate management panel, a regional map with tracking by manager, agent and customer and an artificial intelligence assistant.

The second prize went to the team “640x480”, made up of Pere Pagès, Roc Lang, Hug Capafons and Marc Lopez.

The third prize was awarded to the team “ADDAD (NextBuy)”, integrated by Xu Yao, Zhiqian Zhou, Pengcheng Chen, Jiahui Chen, Hao Chen and Chengheng Li Chen.

Inibsa will continue to be present in the spaces where talent arises. Because being Inibser is also that: being where the future is being built.
